President Trump tried to register to vote in Florida using an out-of-state address

Source: WaPo

President Trump originally tried to register to vote in Florida while claiming his “legal residence” was in another part of the country — Washington, D.C. — according to Florida elections records.

The September 2019 registration application listed Trump’s legal residence as 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. NW, the location of the White House. That created a potential problem for Trump: Florida law requires voters to be legal residents of the state. A month later, Trump resubmitted his application to use a Florida address and in March he voted by mail in Florida’s Republican primary.

The revisions complicate Trump’s own record as a voter at a time when the president has made unsubstantiated claims of widespread fraud in mail-in balloting.

there won't be any confusion on his part (well, none more than usual). We're sending you packing to Mar-Ma-Lado, Little Donnie. Now, the bigger question will be if Malaria moves there with him, or whether she prefers the sanctity, and sanity, of New York, away from a huge, disgusting, orange distraction? Stay tuned!

you only move back with your parents as a last resort. She has the ways and means to live elsewhere, and there's always the question of Barron to think about. I'm positive he wouldn't want to live with his asshole father. I don't think there's a lot of interaction between Barron and the great orange hemorrhoid. I don't think Barron even plays golf!

...that Melania Trump is going to take our ersatz president to the cleaners in divorce court. If I was her I would demand all the real estate, all the golf courses, all the royalties from that tv show he had, his entire wardrobe with the exception of his supply of that cheap makeup he wears, and 100 percent of the intellectual property rights to the name Trump. I would go after him so hard, he’d have to pay me a dollar every time he wrote his name on a piece of paper.

He would keep the debt.

And if you can prohibit anyone from recording a title in his name for a property valued at more than $250,000, I’d ask for that too.

Snip:

According to those documents, and additional materials obtained by The Washington Post, Trump agreed in writing years ago to change the use of the Mar-a-Lago property from a single-family residence to a private club owned by a corporation he controls.

was president and claimed he was a Texas resident, even though he didn't own a home or any real estate in Texas? He claimed that because he didn't want to pay income taxes in D.C. and if he was a "resident" of Texas, they had no Income Tax.

Doonesbury had fun with that one.....He put a coupon in his strip that people could use to register in Texas. You just filled in the blanks, and mailed it to Texas......Hysterically, within a week, the State of Texas had received 400,000 of them in the mail.....

Needless to say, Pappy Bush got away with it, but ordinary citizens didn't......

Side Note: Florida ruled earlier that Mar-a-Lago could not be used as a residence by Trump.

the electors of a state cannot vote for a President and a Vice President who are both from their state; one of them has to be from a different state. Which means Bush would have been president and Lieberman vice president (or vice versa).

Of course, Cheney "changed" his residence to Wyoming barely a month before the election -- not enough time to even become a legal resident -- but the lawsuit was thrown out. Like you say, the laws apply only to ordinary citizens.
