GRAPHIC VIDEO: Buffalo police officers violently shove man onto ground

Source: WFBO (NPR)

Shortly after Buffalo’s curfew started, city police and State Police swept through the area of Niagara Square directly in front of City Hall to clear the area where a protest was finishing. An unidentified, older man was hit shoved by two officers in the line. The man lost his balance and fell to the pavement, audibly hitting his head with blood running out from under his head.

Department officials have since said a full Internal Affairs investigation is underway and that Police Commissioner Byron Lockwood has ordered the immediate suspension of the two officers involved, without pay.

It's bad enough getting sent home with pay to ponder your fate. When you get sent home without pay you don't have to ponder much.

white wingers to prance around with semi-auto weapons, we can do that. Right now too many armed crazies running around.

We do need to quit hiring x-military types, just because they were in military, thinking they make good police officers.

Keep the person still. Until medical help arrives, keep the injured person lying down and quiet, with the head and shoulders slightly elevated. Don't move the person unless necessary, and avoid moving the person's neck. If the person is wearing a helmet, don't remove it.
Stop any bleeding. Apply firm pressure to the wound with sterile gauze or a clean cloth. But don't apply direct pressure to the wound if you suspect a skull fracture.
Watch for changes in breathing and alertness. If the person shows no signs of circulation — no breathing, coughing or movement — begin CPR.

I hope he is doing better. I worry about the blood coming out of his ear though.

for internal bleeds from this. He seemed knocked out. I really hope he’s okay too, but I’ll be surprised if he doesn’t have lasting damage, even if only back pain. Dude seemed pretty limber/in shape before he was knocked down, this is awful. That cop should be fired, IMO, for uncontrolled aggressive, excessive force.

Are you still working on vetting it, even though it was filmed by an actual TV News crew and posted on their Facebook page?

What are you waiting for? Saving it for tomorrow?

You spare no expense to show the looting, what about a criminal activity by these criminals?

How many times, in how many different ways, do Police Officers need to be told to NOT use excessive force when dealing with the public? Is their culture of brutality so ingrained now that's it's impossible for them to learn different techniques for handling people? Brute force is all they seem to understand. What if it was their wife, son, or father who was on the receiving end of this type of treatment?

The cop was out of line, but it looked to me like almost not a shove, but a gesture that resulted in the poor guy losing his balance. I see the cops getting away with much more strenuous activity that that.

Really? Isn't that another way of saying it actually was a shove?

If you watch the video it's actually a very violent shove. One officer pushes him back with his baton knocking him off balance and the other gives him a very hard shove to insure he goes down.

Two younger men doing this to a 75 yr old would face felony assault charges anywhere in America and most of the world.

The fact that cops get away with assaults like this all the time just proves the protesters were right as if more evidence were needed.
