Barr says he's open to ban on police chokeholds

Source: Axios

Attorney General Bill Barr said in an interview on Fox News' "Special Report" Monday that he supports banning police chokeholds — one of the reforms proposed by Democrats in Congress — except when necessary to meet "lethal force."

The big picture: Barr condemned the idea promoted by activists in the wake of George Floyd's killing of defunding police departments, calling it "dangerous" and stressing his belief that more crime will be committed if police are forced to pull back from communities.

Driving the news: A veto-proof majority of the Minneapolis City Council signed a pledge on Sunday to begin the process of dismantling the Minneapolis Police Department as it currently exists. The council-members are seeking to replace it with a community-based public safety model — the details of which are not yet clear.

You will be rightfully dissected and if you've committed any treasonous acts, you be imprisoned!

as is the idea some are floating of disbanding them.
On the other hand there does need to be massive reform done apparently and they need to dismiss and or take off the streets and move them purely to administrative duties those with a substantial number of reprimands.
That and increase the needed criteria for people that want to become police officers as we do not need people that that think force should always be used rather we need more officers that will use their brains and preferably words first so as to not escalate anything.

As AG his job is to enforce the law , which he's refused to do , and instead became trumps lawyer , not ours. He 's another fraud like trump is. His time is coming , and he will end up in prison for his crimes.

We need an end to violent, racist policing. Chokeholds are a symptom of the condition. Defunding the police is a start. They don't need military-style equipment to do community policing. It will not increase crime. It will decrease crime committed by police.
