Bolton Book to Relate Trump Chaos, How Re-Election Drove Policy
Source: Bloomberg
Former National Security Advisor John Bolton paints an unflattering picture of Donald Trump in his forthcoming memoir, writing that the presidents foreign policy choices were driven primarily by political considerations.
In the book set to be released on June 23, Bolton will detail chaos in the White House and offer a behind-the-scenes look at issues related to China, Russia, North Korea and Iran, as well as European allies, according to publisher Simon & Schuster Inc. The White House has sought to block the book, citing an ongoing review for classified material.
I am hard-pressed to identify any significant Trump decision during my tenure that wasnt driven by re-election calculations, Bolton writes in the book, titled The Room Where It Happened, the publisher said in a release.
The former top security aide, who was ousted last September, will argue the House Democrats impeachment inquiry was too narrow and should have focused on more than Trumps efforts to pressure Ukraine for dirt on former Vice President Joe Biden. Simon & Schuster promised Bolton will offer details on other similar moves by Trump across the full range of his foreign policy and the national security advisers efforts to stop them.

(1,523 posts)Some fucking nerve to criticize the impeachment inquiry when he would not answer a lawful subpoena to protect his damn book deal.
And leave the subpoena on the books so he can be held in contempt and held in a jail cell when we actually get a lawful justice department next year.

(1,685 posts)WTF is he going to have to say that we dont know already. Nothing. Asshole couldnt speak up when It counted all because of his fucking book. Of course even if he had spoken up it wouldnt have done any good with all those Republican congress people totally kissing trumps ass. In a perfect world everyone of those Republican dirtbags would get voted out this time around, that are up for re-election. Trump and all those adoring sycophants are all trash.
Mr.Bill

(599 posts)Rather than a fascist dictatorship where our dictator is subordinate to a more evil fascist dictator in Russia. Lets all pretend that we will have an election in November, and that election wont be rigged like the last one.
If we can make those pretenses, then want Bolton says in his book might actually matter.

(291 posts)Any ideas what the absurd distractions will be when this book comes out? Inviting Putin to the White House? Sell nukes to North Korea? A trip to maga-t-lago with the Minnesota murder police?
