CONFIRMED: US Open 2020 To Take Place As Per Schedule

Source: Essentially Sports

In some big news coming from the United States Tennis Association (USTA), the US Open is all but confirmed for its 2020 edition. Adam Zagoria reports for Forbes that a formal announcement is expected soon.

As per him, the U.S.T.A’s agreements with the men’s and women’s tours are at the final stage. The prospective dates for the tournament are August 31-September 13. To follow through with the social distancing guidelines, fans and media will not get entry.

However, there’s no official word out on that particular aspect yet. Despite that, the tournament might suffer from another big issue. Most of the big tennis stars are expected to refrain from participation.

I know SPORTS are big business. But they depend on lots of people attending the events. That is a strategy for tragedy.

We're not out of the first wave of Covid-19. We're about to experience the second surge of the first wave.

The rush to reopen is foolish and dangerous.

Tennis, anyone? No, thanks. The same for baseball, basketball (their plan is hysterically stupid but at least they'll be in Disneyworld!), golf or any other spectator sports.

Why are people so short-sighted?
