Wireless companies report widespread outages across US
Source: Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Wireless carriers throughout the United States were experiencing network issues Monday, including widespread outages, according to multiple reports.
T-Mobile, Sprint and Verizon customers all reported massive service disruptions in multiple states. AT&s service was also interrupted due to the issue but has since returned to operating normally, the company said, noting that it was still possible that some customers would be unable to reach people on other carrier networks.
Verizon also reported it was performing well now.About 6 p.m.,
T-Mobile reported its data services were available again and that some calls were completing.

(6,181 posts)... shut down all dissent with the flip of one switch.
For example to counter bad CV-19 news, to keep national election results in the hand of a few people. As a prerequisite to declaring marshall law.
I think we need to consider the worse while trump has his hands on the levers of control.
The shutdowns today told them what works to implement massive communication shutdowns and what doesn't work.

(51,584 posts)I get the same excuse from Verizon..."there is a newish server in Mexico and all the states along a thousand mile border are having problems due to it". I even got a small refund since it happens so much. This is why I have a landline as well as cell.

(5,523 posts)176 year old technology ain't bad. I recently had to give up my copper wired service and switch to fiber optic because of poor internet speeds. But when we had our last power outage, all I had to to was fire up my generator to keep the modem up.

(6,390 posts)My brothers care broke down on the outskirts of town. He couldn't reach my sister, so he called me...and was hard to hear. I eventually figured it out and drove out to him.
He didn't have AAA, so I called them to use my account. Had a hard time, kept breaking up, etc. But they got the info. And so we waited...after an hour I called again...wouldn't dial through or would just drop. Drove closer to town, even then, had a hard time but contacted them on the status of the tow truck. No updates yet.
After two hours did it again, AAA said the tow truck is showing on site...I told them that is obviously not true. They tried contacting the tow company but they wouldn't pick up, but sent a message via another system and they would have to answer it. Plus they said they would call me back....never did.
After three hours, my other brother shows up back from work, then heads to Auto Zone to get the part to fix the issue, but we don't know if there is another problem and still want the tow truck. So I drive off again to a better cell reception area, call again, and again the tow truck company is showing in their system as being on site....again I tell them its bullshit and they should probably find another company to contract with.
After four hours, we fix the car. I head home and call AAA and tell them to not count this tow against me as the tow never showed up. She says they eventually entered they never found us....and I'm thinking, really? Lone desolate road? Easy to spot and we never saw a tow truck. Told the rep the tow guy was absolutely lying and since they had my phone number, should have called. She said, yes they should have and they should have called to make sure I did get the tow. And would elevate this issue as the whole system obviously broke down over communication and it was strange to see a tow truck "at location" for two hours and get back to me in a week of why I got shitty service. Add to that, never got text alerts of where they were at like I usually do when I blew a tire and battery died.
I was pretty livid after that. They told me the name of the company....going to write an email to them tomorrow, whoever was the driver, either dropped the ball or was engaged in some other activity and blew us off.
