FAA chief acknowledges agency, Boeing made mistakes on 737 MAX

Source: Reuters

(Reuters) - Federal Aviation Administration chief Steve Dickson acknowledged on Wednesday that Boeing and the U.S. air safety agency both made mistakes in the development of the 737 MAX jetliner, grounded for more than a year following fatal crashes.

During a particularly tense exchange at a Senate Commerce committee hearing on aircraft certification, Senator Ted Cruz accused Dickson of speaking in the passive voice as a way of “avoiding responsibility” after Dickson told him “mistakes were made.”

“So unknown somebodies made unspecified mistakes for which there were no repercussions,” Cruz said. “What mistakes were made and who made them?”

After a pause, Dickson said, “The manufacturer made mistakes and the FAA made mistakes in its oversight. The full implications of the flight control system were not understood as design changes were made.”

Ted's wife and lied about his father. Ted is still chasing that appointment as Justice on the Supreme Court. Window will close when Biden is sworn in as prez.

They'll just deteriorate in storage.

I'm in no hurry to jump back on a flying germ tube, and I would imagine that businesses have seen that they can still function without having to send their people for face-to-face meetings to close deals. We are probably not going to see a return to the amount of air travel that existed pre-C-19.

Saw an interesting article that studied data from credit cards. The better off people are, the more they are concerned about the virus and aren't going out or traveling. The lower down the economic ladder, the more likely one is to being going out and mingling. Unfortunately, they aren't the people who drive the larger economy.
