Six campaign staffers working on Tulsa rally test positive for coronavirus

(CNN) The Trump campaign confirmed six staffers working on the Tulsa rally tested positive for coronavirus.

"Per safety protocols, campaign staff are tested for COVID-19 before events. Six members of the advance team tested positive out of hundreds of tests performed, and quarantine procedures were immediately implemented. No COVID-positive staffers or anyone in immediate contact will be at today's rally or near attendees and elected officials. As previously announced, all rally attendees are given temperature checks before going through security, at which point they are given wristbands, facemasks and hand sanitizer," Tim Murtaugh, Campaign Communications Director, said in a statement.

NBC was first to report the positive tests.

won't provide much protection anyway. My wife is a retired RN and she says those masks were designed to be worn when entering a patient's room then thrown out when leaving the room. 20-30 minutes is pushing it.

10. Temperature checks are of limited value for covid-19

So many people get covid-19 without ever getting a temperature, and those who do are likely infectious also at times when they don't have a temperature.

It's worth doing for lack of anything better, and it helps reduce the spread of other illnesses as well.

But a lot of infectious people will pass that test.

They report that the workers were planning the event from some other location, and that they are now in quarantine.

older teens in groups of 2 or 3. Most were yelling and chanting. What better way for the virus to spread as most young folks do not show symptoms like a fever?

Best news was only half of the seats were full. If all of the seats were occupied it would have been terrible. Not that it won't be.
