Bolton says he hopes Trump is 1-term president, warns country imperiled by his reelection
Source: ABC
President Donald Trump's longest-serving national security adviser John Bolton condemned his presidency as dangerously damaging to the United States and argued the 2020 election is the last "guardrail" to protect the country from him.
In an exclusive interview with ABC News, Bolton offered a brutal indictment of his former boss, saying, "I hope (history) will remember him as a one-term president who didn't plunge the country irretrievably into a downward spiral we can't recall from. We can get over one term -- I have absolute confidence, even if it's not the miracle of a conservative Republican being elected in November. Two terms, I'm more troubled about."
In the interview with ABC News Chief Global Affairs Correspondent Martha Raddatz and in his new book, "The Room Where It Happened," Bolton paints Trump as "stunningly uninformed," making "erratic" and "irrational" decisions, unable to separate his personal and political interests from the country's, and marked and manipulated by foreign adversaries.
"I don't think he's a conservative Republican. I'm not going to vote for him in November -- certainly not going to vote for Joe Biden either. I'm going to figure out a conservative Republican to vote in," he told Raddatz.

(26,291 posts)revealed what Trump did rather than withhold the information for his book release so imo Bolton can go fuck himself.

(6,137 posts)his book wont make a splash. None of the books did. Anyone who is even remotely considering for trump do not read books.

(111,255 posts)WaPo had a pretty scathing review last night, especially about the end of the book, where he blames his failure to testify on Democrats who didn't want to get embroiled in a lengthy legal battle to drag him in there, realizing he'd be a hostile witness anyway, and then blaming them for not knowing everything he knew.
Yep, still a piece of shit, still blaming Democrats for everything he's done. He needs to shuffle off to some corporate yes man job and stop hurting this country.

(111,255 posts)I saw the link and I just didn't bother, I'd already read and heard enough from that man about how Democrats should have known everything he did.
Well, duh, asshole, that's why you should have testified in the House instead of pitching a fit through your lawyers. That was a chickenshit move on your part and we all know it.

(2,312 posts)If the rest of the book is the same, it's a horribly written piece of self-fluffery in which he blames Obama for most everything, sides with Trump on just about every foreign policy issue, and then drops a negative statement or two about Trump's management style and unfitness for the job.
If you've read the reviews, you don't need to read a word more, but here's a sample of his self-congratulatory tone:

Bolton is a horse's ass' horse's ass. And he's a stunningly terrible and tedious writer. I'm pretty sure he had a Republican orgasm after writing the passage above.

But I'm happy to know I don't have to waste a lot of time on this.

Fuck Him and his book. I'm not watching a single interview.

(19,564 posts)He said so at the end of the interview. You know, after he finished trashing on Democrats and Trump, but not holding Republicans feet to the fire for their complacency with Trump.
Fuck him and his book that brought this interview on.

(23,099 posts)He is a fucking traitor and I'm so happy someone downloaded his book on Twitter so no one has to pay. I won't read it because I don't want to waste the money to download this to paper & really don't care that much. I know for certain drumpf is an ignorant self serving criminal and traitor who hates the working class/poor, minorities and women and all Bolton has done is color in some of the pictures. If he had testified, I'd buy it to support him, but Bolton is a fascist as well and sold the country out for his own pocketbook, so fuck him big time.
