President Trump early Sunday denied that he had been briefed on reported Russian bounties placed on U.S. troops in Afghanistan and called for The New York Times to identify its source.

"Nobody briefed or told me, @VP Pence, or Chief of Staff @MarkMeadows about the so-called attacks on our troops in Afghanistan by Russians, as reported through an 'anonymous source' by the Fake News @nytimes," Trump tweeted.

"Everybody is denying it & there have not been many attacks on us..... ...Nobody’s been tougher on Russia than the Trump Administration. With Corrupt Joe Biden & Obama, Russia had a field day, taking over important parts of Ukraine - Where’s Hunter? Probably just another phony Times hit job, just like their failed Russia Hoax. Who is their 'source'?" he added.

I can't vouch for their authenticity, but I've seen multiple reports that he can't be briefed because he won't shut up. He interrupts and then babbles on about his opinions. It has also been mentioned that anything with more than a page or two that is not a few bullet points and graphics is pushed aside without more than a glance.

There is also the possibility that he is not being given any sensitive material because he talks too much.

So, yeah, he was not briefed.

He just didn't think it was a major concern . . . like his poll numbers are. I'm sure he was briefed -- and I'm also sure that the people who did the briefing didn't emphasize the seriousness of the intelligence. Maybe that was because of Trump's normal bullying manner.

Or maybe someone DID emphasize the seriousness -- or try to -- only to be told to stand down by Pence or some other worthless person present at the briefing.

In any event, someone in Trump's inner circle knows and we can only hope it is a person of sufficient conscience to step forward. But I think Trump and his major confidante Miller have pretty much excluded all people of conscience from this White House, so there's that.
