Jeffrey Epstein Confidante Ghislaine Maxwell Arrested, Sources Say

Ghislaine Maxwell, the British socialite and heiress who became a confidante of disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein and was later accused of involvement in his alleged sexual crimes, has been arrested by the FBI, two senior law enforcement sources tell News 4 New York.

She was arrested in New Hampshire on Epstein-related charges and is expected to appear in a federal court later today, the sources say.

Spokespeople for the FBI and the U.S. Attorney's Office in Manhattan declined to comment.

The daughter of media baron Robert Maxwell, Ghislaine was a one-time girlfriend of Epstein's and was at the high-flying investor's side for decades.

Jeffrey Epstein never implicated Ghislaine Maxwell, as far as I know. The news stories were usually about him pleading "Fifth" whenever investigators asked about Maxwell's involvement with his procurement services. Of course Epstein never went to trial and a lot of his testimony and documents have been put on ice since his death.

Maxwell needs to face charges of her own, regardless of Epstein. Multiple victims have accused her of aiding and abetting Epstein, and she's allegedly responsible for recruiting many underage girls for Epstein's "business." Maxwell has been laying low in New England for the last few years, and she was just arrested in New Hampshire today.

Maybe the connection to Chump will finally come out in her response to the charges. One can always hope!

She's been in court before but only for private lawsuits, not to answer federal charges.

This is a different kind of animal, and one hopes the prosecutors have proof and documents from Epstein's estate. Otherwise she could weasel out of the charges without telling anything. I'm guessing that Bill Barr doesn't care one way or the other, as long as he can prevent her from naming Chump in anything.
