Biden's 2020 rivals line up to pitch his economic recovery plan

Source: Axios

Six of Joe Biden's former 2020 rivals — and other top Democrats — are barnstorming the airwaves and virtual campaign trail in crucial states this week to pitch a new economic recovery plan he released Thursday, called "Build Back Better."

...snip...

Many of the supporting Democrats aren't under consideration to be Biden's V.P. But the campaign is trying to bring all parts of the Democratic coalition together for the final four months of the election.
- Sens. Elizabeth Warren and Kamala Harris are scheduled to talk about the plan on MSNBC and CNN today.
- Mayors Pete Buttigieg and Keisha Lance Bottoms, and Sens. Chris Coons and Tammy Duckworth, will appear across MSNBC and CNBC.
- Sen. Amy Klobuchar will host a virtual roundtable with Arizona voters; Buttigieg is doing the same in New Hampshire; and Beto O'Rourke will join a press call with Texans.

And would have many of the experienced people from the Obama administration while Trump just has crooks and grifters.

His plan has a lot of system structural improvements that should last long term

9. Interesting that it's a catchphrase that has been in use by the UN for disaster recovery.

During the negotiation period for the Sendai Framework, the concept of "Build Back Better" was proposed by the Japanese Delegation as a holistic concept as follows:
"The principle of “Build Back Better” concept is generally understood to use disaster as a trigger to create more resilient nations and societies than before through the implementation of well-balanced disaster risk reduction measures, including physical restoration of infrastructure, revitalization of livelihood and economy/industry, and the restoration of local culture and environment."

This holistic concept was fully agreed among the negotiation delegates of each states and embedded into the Sendai Framework as one of the most important concepts.

At the opening speech of the Third UN World Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction, The Prime Minister of Japan, Mr. Abe Shinzo, clearly spoke about this concept, saying, "The word of Build Back Better sounds like a new concept but this is common sense to the Japanese people, coming from our historical experiences in recovering from disaster and preparing for the future, and it has become an important part of the culture of Japan". https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Build_Back_Better
