Lincoln Project video editor is out over crude tweets about female anatomy
Source: Washington Post
A video editor who shaped the buzzy Lincoln Project ads needling President Trump is no longer affiliated with the Republican organization over a series of past tweets in which he used offensive slang for female anatomy to insult political rivals.
Ben Howe, who came of age politically making anti-Obama ads during the rise of the tea party, did not publicly tout his work for the super PAC formed by a group of high-level Republican operatives who have broken ranks with the party over Trumps presidency until a recent interview with Vanity Fair. He was described in the article as the creative mind, video editor, and, he said, sometimes narrating voice on many of the groups ads.
The 19th, a nonprofit news outlet, had emailed the Lincoln Project about a series of Twitter posts made by Howe in the years after Trumps election that deployed female anatomy as an insult, calling rivals a vagina or twat, or in some instances using a more profane term.
Based on these unacceptable and offensive posts, and those that came to light last week, Ben Howe is no longer affiliated with the Lincoln Project, effective immediately, Keith Edwards, the groups spokesman, said in a statement.

(6,178 posts)...... THIS a GOP lying dirty trick to me.
I'm no ad guy. I'm no political expert beyond worrying about our country and the destruction of the Constitution.
But these Lincoln Project ads are the best target ads I have seen. It feels like a dirty a la Roger Stone trick to attack the ads. That ads are dead-on true so go after the individuals who prepare them.
One final point lets get real any language referring to women in the manner suggested is wrong.
But we have a "grab them by the pussy" president who frequents prostitutes. What the hell is the hoopla about when the PRESIDENT has made it commonplace vernacular?

(14,169 posts)I'm sure every one in TLP is and has had all their past social media posts sifted through by Trump's team. And this is what they found. Then they pass it on to some extreme radical PC police on the left to complete the process and sit back and laugh.
Is it offensive? Damn right. A lot of language is offensive. Like the pure and simple "FUCK" for instance.
Not only using a word for the act of sex itself, but also for the organs used in that act. Both male and female. It happens with not just the evil conservatives.
I'm not going to list them here. We use them to describe someone when all other words fail to communicate just how vile they are or their behaviour was. Not nice to do. But humans are not always nice.
Just to be clear...No where is it said he has stated that he thinks males are superior, or statements about women being anything less than equal genders, etc etc...
My gawd we have this shit stain in the White House. And finally we have a great weapon being used against him. Compared to what Trump has done, said, and will do if elected....this is soooooooooo trivial. Especially since its TLP, its not something coming from "our" side. Of course they are vulgar. Let them do their jobs, then we can list this and many other reasons to distance ourselves.
Liberals have a history of standing up for freedom of speech, especually those of comedians. Lenny Bruce on up. Samatha Bee had an attempted "Stoning" as well. For calling Ivanka a (can I even dare repeat it on here?...probably not) "feckless c**t. Is it rude, offensive etc etc? YES That's why she used it!
My gawd people, we are in a war here! The Roger Stones keep teeing up the ball and enough of us hit it out of the park for them.

I had lunch with a high level Republican decades ago. All he talked about was "T&A". Sounded that same as this guy's tweets. A life of privilege gives them the right to treat people like objects.

I'm always astounded when DUers here brag about giving the Lincoln Project their $$.
Why not give it to Dem candidates instead?

(16,646 posts)I'm always wary of this group. They aren't our "friends". We have very few common interests and when this is over, they aren't going to support Biden but instead work to defeat him and his agenda. Furthermore, when they get in trouble for a bad ad or bad behavior or other ethical lapses, we don't need to suffer guilt by association. And honestly, we have to be prepared to call them out when they go too far or express points of view that aren't consistent with Biden's.
