Biden unveils $2 trillion climate plan with energy revamp

WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) — Joe Biden released a $2 trillion plan Tuesday aimed at combating climate change and spurring economic growth in part by overhauling America’s energy industry, with a proposal to achieve entirely carbon pollution-free power by 2035.

“These are the most critical investments we can make for the long-term health and vitality of both the American economy and the physical health and safety of the American people,” Biden said during remarks to reporters near his home in Wilmington, Delaware.

Biden acknowledged that the economy is in “crisis” because of the COVID-19 pandemic, but said it offers “an incredible opportunity, not just to build back to where we were before, but better, stronger, more resilient and more prepared for the challenges that lie ahead.”

The plan marks his latest effort to build out a legislative agenda with measures that could animate progressives who may be skeptical of Biden, who waged a more centrist campaign during the Democratic primary.

This is very encouraging--fighting climate change while producing many jobs, and spurring the economy. While trump's answer is get a different job and finish destroying the environment.

Another good ad.

even by more conservative voters. We got a lot out of the space program, 1965-1990. And out of DARPA. Research leads to innovation, patents, licenses, production, and must-have products, some of which are exported and help our balance of payments.

6. Does it include nuclear? If not, its not happening.

Currently, our total energy consumption is about 11% renewable. We are not going to replace 90% of what we use now in 15 years without seriously investing in nuclear. Unless we drastically reduce our usage; which also isnt going to happen. Especially with higher temps every summer

I watched his entire talk and I felt some real inspiration. He is honest, he punches Trump, but he still showed him some respect.

He coughed, lightly, four times during the speech and each time I'm like, noooooo, but he recovered very well.

You are NOT going to get 90% of our power from sources other than coal & gas without it. Unless you want to dam up every river in the country. Even that wouldnt be enough.
It also shows Biden is being realistic & not a "pie in the sky" guy.
