Lindsey Graham previews Mueller interrogation

Source: Politico

Senate Judiciary Chairman Lindsey Graham said Tuesday he intends to grill former special counsel Robert Mueller about alleged flaws in the FBI’s investigation of links between the Trump campaign and Russia in 2016.

“He has a lot to account for — and we’ll see how he does” at a potential hearing, Graham (R-S.C.) told former Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) on a Fox News podcast.

Graham, who described himself as “hellbent” on investigating those who investigated President Donald Trump’s team, said he intends to press Mueller about a raft of developments since the former FBI chief testified to the House Judiciary and Intelligence committees nearly a year ago — from a watchdog’s finding that crucial surveillance warrants were riddled with errors to the discovery that the FBI briefly intended to drop its case against former national security adviser Michael Flynn.

Over the weekend, Graham said he would grant Democrats’ previous request for Mueller to appear before the committee as part of its GOP-led review of the origins of the Russia investigation. Graham’s statement came after Mueller wrote a Washington Post op-ed in which he defended his nearly two-year investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election and his office’s prosecution of Trump confidant Roger Stone.

He should be allowed to bring some of his deputies that helped. This is a rehash from retirement.

4. The word "hellbent" has a lot more meaning here than Lindsey Graham would have us think.

Lindsey just wants to follow Trump home, and is willing to take the whole country with them.

I don't expect a lot to come from this hearing. Mueller's a lot smarter and much more legally astute than Graham. Also, Mueller isn't the kind of guy to volunteer any new information that wasn't already in his report.

This is a political show, nothing more.

are convinced this was a politically motivated investigation. Mueller could produce a check to Trump signed by Putin with an invoice noting "For 2016 Election Services Rendered" and they still wouldn't change their minds.

That Ms. Lindsey is brought before committees for the many things that HE has to account for.

Do they not realize that this is all going to come around on them? That they are WRONG, and that they are looking completely desperate? The complain about a which hunt - look at Benghazi, look at this, look at them sabotaging everything, everywhere, the corruption, holding back judges only to cram in as many as they can - no matter if they are qualified or not.

Do they think that people will not remember this? This isn't just politics, they are implicated in some major corruption and crimes. When we win - and we will - we better not be so busy cleaning up their mess that we forget that we need to show them what "law and order" really means.

We will be watching. I want to hear from Democrats exactly what they plan to do once they get back into power - I want to know the plan (I don't need the details) - I want to know that the plan is to go after the corruption and pain we have endured as a country for four long years and that those who have been a part of it are not only no longer in the White House, but are held accountable for their crimes.
