'Monster' KC pharmacist who diluted medications for years to be released 7 years early

Source: Kansas City Star

During an investigation that began in mid-2001, Courtney admitted to diluting 72 different medications over nearly a decade. Most were cancer treatment drugs, but others could have been used to treat AIDS, multiple sclerosis, arthritis and other diseases.

Authorities estimated his scheme could have touched 4,200 patients.

Courtney’s insurance company agreed to pay $35 million to victims, and two pharmaceutical makers paid $71 million in settlements.

In December, Courtney filed a motion for a sentence reduction. It was denied April 3

A lot of the doctors I worked with had patients who were involved. Courtney was the son of a fundamentalist preacher and gave a million dollars to his father's church. The father went on about what a good son he was. It took a while, but the father was finally convinced that he shouldn't keep the million dollars.

Criminal Intent. It included the fundamentalist aspect.

pushing financial schemes which ruin peoples' lives, and more are the trade of sociopathic greedheads seeking thrills, gain and profit.

Re this case, I just read another article about a Romanian mother whose daughter died after a fire at a nightclub recently. In her 20s, the daughter fled and escaped the fire, but she was given a diluted disinfectant in the hospital to treat her injured hand and that allowed a lethal infection to set in.

The disinfectant product was intentionally watered down by the manufacturer/distributor for profit and it's a widespread problem in the area. Ironically, the mother is a surgeon and had worked for decades in the same medical system/hospital where her daughter became sick and died.

- The famous Ferris wheel scene in the classic masterpiece movie, 'The Third Man' (1949).

Harry Lime, portrayed by famous actor Orson Welles is on the run from the police in post-war torn Vienna, Austria. He is wanted for illegally distributing diluted penicillin, some of which was given to children to treat meningitis. In the Ferris wheel car Harry is with his American friend, writer Holly Martins (Joseph Cotton) who has come to visit him. Martins is aware of some of Harry's crimes.

Criminal Harry looks down at all the people below, the 'little dots' on the fairground and asks- does anyone really care about other people, and states that people are happier dead. The behavior and thinking are hallmarks of a true sociopath with no conscience, no empathy and able to do anything in their own interest.

should stay in prison. They are concerned he might get Covid? He certainly didn’t care about the patients he sold prescriptions to. Many died because of his actions. He should not get out!
