Former Trump physician Ronny Jackson: 'Wearing a mask is a personal choice'

Source: Politico

Dr. Ronny Jackson, a Republican congressional candidate in Texas and the former physician to the president, said Wednesday that the government should not require Americans to wear masks to slow the spread of coronavirus.

“I think that wearing a mask is a personal choice, and I don’t particularly want my government telling me that I have to wear a mask. And so I think that’s a choice that I can make,” Jackson told “Fox & Friends.”

Now we see what he received in exchange for performing that service to the Don. Political support so he can spread the fatal disease of Trumpism to Congress.

Is this is the "Dr." Ronny Jackson who drinks like a fish, hands out controlled substance prescriptions so readily he earned the nickname "the candy man", and drunkenly totaled a government car (which was covered up within the Trump admin)? THAT "Dr." Ronny Jackson?

He was loyal to His Assholiness, and that's all that matters to Donald Trump. He's not highly regarded in the medical profession, and that's being nice. He's running in the most republican district in the country, so I guess being Trump's boy there wasn't a big surprise.

was his only one. It is somewhat unbelievable he'd let his only license lapse though, given he is still a relatively young man. Perhaps DC?

Also pretty interesting that he did not acquire/maintain a Texas license.

To practice military medicine, you need a medical license from a U.S. jurisdiction

Newly minted docs get their first (called temporary) license from where they do their residency - which Jackson did in Virginia. He was not licensed in D.C.

a valid license while on active duty--including the US Public Health Service as well as the armed forces.

As a youngish man, it is unusual to give up his only license to practice-- for multiple reasons--but likewise, to avoid severe penalties should he cross the line into giving medical advice in his public pronouncements. I have little doubt he'll end up crossing that line as he's shown little cautious forethought.
