Because den needs to keep up the question of what Trump is hiding. Biden has nothing to hide. He has released his tax returns. So what is it that Trump doesn’t want voters to know because he’s afraid it might make them refuse to vote for him?

He lists the value of his assets too low on tax returns and then inflates the prices for those same assets on his loan documentation. He's been doing it for years.

if the prospective defendant is actively preventing the investigation from acquiring evidence it is entitled to. That would be using legal maneuvering in courts to run out the clock and avoid responsibility. It would seem to be a perversion of justice because they can just keep filing appeals.
