RNC to hawk Donald Trump Jr.'s new book

Source: Politico

Donald Trump Jr. has a new book coming out next month, and he’ll have a powerful ally helping him sell it: the Republican National Committee.

The RNC is buying copies of the first son’s forthcoming “Liberal Privilege,” which it will offer to donors who contribute at least $75. The committee orchestrated a similar fundraising campaign last year around Trump’s previous book, “Triggered” — a move that led to accusations that the RNC was boosting sales to land him in the coveted top slot of The New York Times bestseller list.

Republican officials insist the goal is simply to use the book as a fundraising tool. The committee spent over $100,000 on copies of "Triggered," which resulted in donations totaling around $1 million, and allies of the younger Trump argued that the book would have risen to the top of the bestseller list regardless, given his loyal conservative following.

The RNC, which is planning to purchase “Liberal Privilege” on a rolling basis to keep up with donor demand, is receiving copies at below-retail price, cutting into any profit margin Trump may receive. Party officials also note the president's son is self-publishing, meaning that he didn’t get an advance for the book and will be responsible for any costs associated with it.

You know, real time business people developed stable businesses that grew into dominant corporations. No self-respecting entrepreneur would peddle slop that has no future in it.

Pick your entrepreneur over the last 150 years. How many grew by attacking ordinary people?

Pharma, food, manufacturing, retail ... they all had founders, they were so good other companies bought them up.

Would you rather have Trump Steaks, or Chef Boyar-dee? Cause the Chef was a real guy. He fed the troops, his factories ran 24/7. Even Soviet Russia honored his contributions to the Allied cause.

"Liberal Privilege"? What, to be disappeared in an unmarked rental car off the streets of a major city?

Those people are wacko. Just totally wacko.

Junior is self-publishing which means:

1. He doesn't get an advance
2. He has to pay his ghost writer himself
3. He has to pay for the physical publication
4. His royalties will be very low or non-existent since they're giving away the books

Trump will not be impressed with his son's grift since there won't be a payday.

The is just one more reason Junior is a really poor "businessman" just like his father.

P.S. The GOP can give away as many books as they want. No one wants to read it, though.

WTF is "liberal privilege"?

I can see white power privilege all over the
place and just so many good Nazis all, but
that's about it.

disguised as "brilliant political theory" that's infected gullible dullards for decades. It's a title direct from the right-wing mind of marketing guru Frank Luntz, no doubt.

His audience don’t read.
They watch tv, Fox especially.
100 people might actually read it and half of those will be journalists so they can report it.

Giving away right-wing authored books "free" with subscriptions to newsletters or contributions to other right-wing talk show propagandists, candidates etc. This always guaranteed "Best Seller" status for these right-wing morons (think; Gingrich, Savage, Coulter, Hannity, O'Reilly, etc.) To make sure Baby gets every penny he thinks he so richly deserves, the RNC is hawking this piece of trash for him. They actually think Baby Trump has a political future (what else, beside killing African animals, is he qualified for?), so the Trump wing of the hijacked republican party is going to bail Baby out.

Republicanism is a disease of the mind, and it's schizophrenic tendencies have been agonizingly displayed over the past six years. I'm hoping the entire party, or parties, are institutionalized for the foreseeable future, and are not allowed to infect otherwise sane people with their insane conspiracy theories and fear tactics.

I'm usually against the banning and burning of books, but in Baby Trump's case I'll make an exception. Winter is coming, and it would be a shame to waste the trees which were sacrificed for Baby Trump's political tantrums.

11. A Book for Suckers

The title alone smacks of hypocrisy given the fact that privilege is all he has ever had. Donald, Donald jr, Eric, Ivanka, all have live a cushie, comfortable, privileged life. They have never had to really work for anything. They never really had to worry about failure because they had wealth to fall back on. They could borrow money from anywhere they wanted. Writing those conservative puff books was probably the most work that idiot has ever done. They are all sheltered and pampered rich kids who are trying to relate to people who are true hardworking people who struggle to make ends meet. They have never had to make a decisions as to what to pay for, when to pay for it, and where the money would come from. Why do people listen to the trumps is beyond me. I doubt that any trump has ever had friends that live where their supporters live. I seriously doubt they associate with anybody other than other rich people. The trumps have convinced the blue collar families of this country that they act, talk, and walk like them. But they are lying. They only pretend to be like them. they will be whatever they need to be to get what they want. The father is a product of his father (fred), and the kids are all products of their father (donald). these people have no scruples, they will tell you whatever they think you want to hear to get your support. If you buy this book, you are a sucker!
