As Trump Slumps, Republican Donors Look to Save the Senate

Source: New York Times

President Trump’s weak poll numbers and a surge of Democratic cash flooding key Senate races have jolted top Republicans and intensified talk among party donors and strategists about redirecting money to protect their narrow Senate Republican majority amid growing fear of complete Democratic control of Washington in 2021.

...snip...

In interviews, more than two dozen top Republican donors and strategists said that Mr. Trump’s political fate would be far more contingent on his own behavior and ability to navigate the Covid-19 crisis and the struggling economy than any additional infusion of campaign cash. Yet any efforts by donors to change their focus to the Senate will be a delicate balance. Mr. Trump not only maintains an iron grip on the Republican base that every Republican senator on the ballot will need to mobilize but also a penchant to lash out at the first signs of disloyalty.

On Monday, new campaign filings showed that the billionaire casino magnate Sheldon Adelson and his wife contributed $25 million to a super PAC dedicated to electing Senate Republicans in June, his biggest contribution of the 2020 cycle so far. Mr. Adelson has yet to contribute to Mr. Trump’s main super PAC.

them other than a trip around on the rump merry-go-round to nowhere? rump is slowly destroying this Country (or trying to render it into rump's pathetic version) with literally nothing in exchange, other than his supposed wit and mutterings delivered one tweet at a time. The pathetic republican senate is just as bad, and full of morons too.

He contributed 25 Megabucks ($25,000,000 or $25 million).

He contributed to a Republican Senate re-election fund.

Republican Senators voted to acquit tRump. They enable and protect tRump and have done so for four years.

Is this understandable? Does it connect the dots for you?

Because there was just such an exodus after the "pussy-grabber" tape leaked, with Republicans deciding to throw Trump under the bus to preserve their chances of holding on to Congress.

Two weeks later, they had all fallen back in line.

Expect the same this time, and make sure to vote and GOTV!
