WASHINGTON Tailored Brands, the parent company of popular men's apparel retailers like Men's Wearhouse and Jos. A. Bank, announced on Tuesday that the company has "identified up to 500 stores for closure over time" amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The company's CEO says most of its stores have reopened, but that COVID-19's impact on business has made it close the hundreds of others and also lay off about 20% of its positions.
According to Tailored Brands, the cost savings for the company of these closures hasn't been calculated or released at this time. The company says they will share additional information with employees who will be affected as "decisions are made."

(43,044 posts)No way the old consumption levels will return for the 47%. We're working at home, driving less, have closets full of clothes and household items. The road back will be a long one. All the debt made us vulnerable to crises, and they are solving it to the extent they can with more red ink at the federal level. Other levels of government are in the red. We are so cooked.
