Republican senator [David Purdue- GA] deletes ad that made Jewish opponent's nose bigger

Source: Forward

Sen. David Perdue of Georgia deleted a Facebook ad targeting his Jewish election opponent, Jon Ossoff, that appeared to have been altered to make Ossoff’s nose bigger.

The ad called for donations to Perdue, a Republican, by claiming that “Democrats are trying to buy Georgia.” It uses black-and-white photos of Ossoff and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, who is also Jewish, that have been Photoshopped to appear as if they were pulled from an old television set with poor reception.

But the Ossoff image, which was adapted from a 2017 Reuters photo of him, was also changed by having his nose lengthened and widened, even as other parts of his face stayed the same size and proportions, three graphic design experts told the Forward.

Ossoff’s nose is “the primary difference where the altered version is larger than the original,” said Maurice Meilleur, an assistant professor of graphic design at Iowa State University. Two professional graphic designers consulted by the Forward concurred with this assessment.

And it's just a coincidence that he's shown next to a Jewish senator, Chuck Schumer?

redneck, I lived near Savannah for 5 years. And dated, or tried to. I also met two good friends.

The bad news is I moved to Florida! Not really, I am much happier here for many different reasons.

For all we know, that was the purpose of this stunt -- to get caught, to turn the conversation *towards* Jewishness and anti-Semitism.

they use bull horns..the orange maggot has "normalized" ethnic hate and so that gives Perdue and his kind an all-clear to spew anti-semitic tropes.. he knows the ADL will demand an apology, Perdue will fake contrition...sorry/not sorry.. and then he moves on to another ethnic slur...

16. Democrat Jon Ossoff denounces 'anti-Semitic' ad by Sen. David Perdue that made his nose look larger

This is truly disgusting My son knows Jon Ossoff https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/democrat-jon-ossoff-denounces-anti-semitic-ad-by-sen-david-perdue-that-made-his-nose-look-larger/2020/07/27/93099ada-d068-11ea-8d32-1ebf4e9d8e0d_story.html

Democrat Jon Ossoff on Monday denounced a now-deleted Facebook ad by Sen. David Perdue’s (R-Ga.) campaign that appeared to make Ossoff’s nose look larger, accusing Perdue of playing on anti-Semitic tropes.

Perdue’s campaign blamed an outside vendor and described the altered photo as an “unintentional error” that was caused when a filter was applied.

According to the Jewish news site the Forward, which first reported on the ad, the black-and-white photo of Ossoff was “changed by having his nose lengthened and widened, even as other parts of his face stayed the same size and proportions.”

The ad — which declared that “Democrats are trying to buy Georgia!” — featured Ossoff and Senate Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer (D-N.Y.), both of whom are Jewish. According to the Forward, the ad had been running on Facebook since July 22 and had made a total of 3,000 to 4,000 impressions before it was removed by Perdue’s campaign.

Ossoff denounced the ad in a tweet in which he shared the Forward article.

“Sitting U.S. Senator David Perdue’s digital attack ad distorted my face to enlarge and extend my nose,” Ossoff said. “I’m Jewish. This is the oldest, most obvious, least original anti-Semitic trope in history. Senator, literally no one believes your excuses.”
