Zuckerman to face Scott in November

Source: WCAX

MONTPELIER, Vt. (WCAX) - Vermont Lt. Gov. David Zuckerman is going to be seeking to oust incumbent GOP Gov. Phil Scott in the November General Election.

During Tuesday's Vermont primary, Zuckerman defeated former Vermont Education Secretary Rebecca Holcombe and two lesser known candidates to win the party's gubernatorial nomination. The 48-year-old Zuckerman, a Hinesburg farmer, says he was motivated to run by what he calls "the imperative nature of the climate crisis."

Zuckerman says he thinks Scott is "a really admirable person" but he hasn't been really visionary on how to address these issues.

I bought a set of clippers and cut my own. Not as good as barber, but it's not that bad either. At least i got the hair off during the heat wave.

I'm sick of Republican governors in Blue states. While Scott may not be Trump, he's in his Party.

It is considered that he has done a very credible job handling the corona virus. The Democrats have a veto proof legislature if they all stick together.

Zuckerman represents Vermont far more than Scott. This race will be much, much closer than polls are showing right now. GO ZUCKERMAN!!!!

He's an old style Yankee Republican and he's done a good job managing the virus.

Zuckerman doesn't have the advantage of being able to tie Scott to Dumdum. Scott's going to have to do something really stupid between now and November, I'm afraid. The main thing in Zuckerman's favor right now is that he's a farmer in a heavily agricultural state where people know by the decline in maple sap that climate change is real.

But if anybody can do it, it is Bernie Sanders's protege who currently holds the Lt Governor job.
