Trump shrugs off outcry over Postal Service: 'I'm just making it good'
Source: The Hill
President Trump on Monday dismissed a Democratic push for billions in U.S. Postal Service (USPS) funding as a "con game" and shrugged off concerns from lawmakers that he is undermining the agency ahead of November's election.
"Im just making it good," Trump said when asked on "Fox & Friends" about claims that he is "sabotaging" the postal service.
Trump complained that the agency has lost tens of billions of dollars over the last several years, though it is a government-funded service that is not necessarily designed to make a profit.
"Were making it so it is going to be good, and were going to take care of our postal workers above all," Trump said. "Were not firing people, but the way they ran that thing for many years, this isnt a Trump thing
This has been one of the disasters of the world the way its been run.

(17,377 posts)him. And if the vote doesn't work, it will only be because the election has been once again stolen. In which case, it will be left to us, the people. We must be ready to do here what the people of Belarus are doing there right now.

(2,094 posts)taking to the streets like the citizens of Belarus because Benedict Donald will not permit anything but total and absolute victory for himself in November and those of "his" party. The voter suppression measures, already a serious problem, will be epic. Putin can only promise to provide some counsel and assistance to him, but can't insure a 100% delivery. It's up to Barr, DeJoy, Powell, and company to drag him across the finish line. I'd anticipate Barr moving against Biden and other Obama associates any day now.

Of course the TX AG will sit on his hands unless it appears the Republicans will be hurt more than the Democrats. He is the one who wanted to sacrifice our seniors to COVID

Biden can call for that to be repealed.

(23,694 posts)I have been livid about that since I first learned of it. The Rs sneaked that one under the wire during the last week of the Congress elected in 2004 before the Democratic Congress of 2006 was sworn in in January.
It is high time that thing was consigned to the dust heap of history

In fact, it was probably a GOP thinktank that came up with it TO create a crisis, and then use that crisis as justification for exactly what we're seeing.

(53,194 posts)If Bush signed this law in 2006 and the deed had to be done in 10 years, the retirements should have been funded by 2017 at the latest.

BTW how many of Trump's businesses' failed to turn a profit.
BTW The postal service is always in hole because the republicans made it so that the USPS has to
fund all of their personal's retirement for 75 years out into the future.
