Tension between pro-police rally goers and Black Lives Matter protesters in Gilbert, Arizona, has evolved into fistfights, The Arizona Republic reports. Now, another rally is planned for this Thursday.

“Videos posted to social media and shared with The Arizona Republic show pro-police protesters waved flags and yelled about the threat of ‘antifa,’ referencing a loosely organized antifascist ideology that has no clear organization or membership but is often criticized by President Donald Trump,” AZCentral reports. “Several people were also caught on video threatening and punching counterprotesters gathered across the street with little police intervention. Some were heard making homophobic and racist remarks and Nazi salutes during and following the brawl.”

According to counter-protesters, police were favoring the pro-cop demonstrators, who they say largely instigated the violence.

“They’re propagating this antifa boogeyman,” said BLM protester Emily Hansen. “It’s terrifying.”

6. Protest in downtown Phoenix called off after alleged threats of violence

PHOENIX — A Black Lives Matter rally in downtown Phoenix was canceled Wednesday night after alleged threats of violence against protesters.

ABC15 crews did see a small group of protesters who continued to march after the event was shut down.

Organizers say threats of physical and gun violence against victims, families and organizers of the march made it nearly impossible to guarantee the safety of those involved.

Members say in light of the shootings in Kenosha and heightened tensions locally, they encourage anyone who had planned to attend, to march in a local protest planned in coordination with the National March on Washington 2020 on August 28.

I saw a meme: I am not against police unless they break the law. I am not agaonst the protestors, unless they break the law.

Here is my own meme: Police and terrorists have to stop shooting people of color. Terrorists infiltrating the peaceful protests need to be identified and arrested. People who are not participating in the protests need to do more than watch what the news is covering, because otherwise, they will miss the obvious meaning of BLM and antifa. This isn't a time for armchair quarterbacks.
