President Donald Trump will unload on Joe Biden in a blistering convention speech Thursday night, according to two people familiar with the address.
Trump is expected to go after the former vice president on everything from the economy to trade. He will also talk about Bidens record on China, immigration, crime, and his response to the coronavirus pandemic.
At no time before have voters faced a clearer choice between two parties, two visions, two philosophies, or two agendas," Trump is expected to say. We have spent the last four years reversing the damage Joe Biden inflicted over the last 47 years. At the Democrat convention, you barely heard a word about their agenda. But that's not because they don't have one. It's because their agenda is the most extreme set of proposals ever put forward by a major party nominee."
While Republicans have spent this week going after Biden, the presidents aides contend that the media has filtered the convention and hasnt adequately highlighted criticisms of Bidens policies. Over the course of this week, additional policy attacks have been added to Trumps speech.

(43,124 posts)It's essentially an argument akin to the Willie Horton ads of 1988. Culture wars. Biden has been the most moderate middle-of-the-road politician - forever. Trump is using lies and scare tactics.

(45,423 posts)and when people feel like things are bad, they will look for a change. Not his dumbest supporters. But I hope enough sensible voters will remember feeling better about life a few years ago. I certainly did.
Make America Great Again is a less effective slogan 4 years into it if people are feeling less great.

(3,166 posts)He's gonna talk about BIDEN'S response to the pandemic?? Is that what that says, or is it just a poorly written sentence?
Biden is a private citizen right now - he holds no office. What in the world should his response have been?? How can Trump criticize that?
