Exclusive-Hackers test defenses of Trump campaign websites ahead of US election, security staff warn
Source: Reuters
LONDON (Reuters) - Hackers have stepped up efforts to knock Trump campaign and business websites offline ahead of the U.S. election, in what a security firm working for the campaign said could be preparation for a larger digital assault, according to emails seen by Reuters.
The security assessment was prepared by staff at U.S. cybersecurity firm Cloudflare, which has been hired by President Donald Trump to help defend his campaigns websites in an election contest overshadowed by warnings about hacking, disinformation and foreign interference.
Cloudflare is widely used by businesses and other organizations to help defend against distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks, which aim to take down websites by flooding them with malicious traffic.
Internal Cloudflare emails sent to senior company managers - including CEO Matthew Prince - on July 9 state that the number and severity of attacks on Trump websites increased in the preceding two months and reached record levels in June. The emails did not give the total number of attacks.

the most basic failure of any tech security is people.
the podcast is pretty interesting. Time and time again hackers gain access, usually, but not always via human foibles.
and if I have learned one thing from that podcast, it's this: if someone really wants to hack a system, they can.

I'm just waiting to see all the Circumlocution of Bullshit that is coming these next 60 days. I seriously wonder if we are even going to make it to Nov 3rd......
We should start a pool, guessing and making bets on what the Republican "October Surprise" will be this election. Certainly, they must have a doozy planned........
Maybe some phony Biden/Son/Ukraine emails revealed at the last moment, much the same as the phony emails last time with Hillary??????
They have destroyed the actual regular voting process, so we came back with Mail In ballots. And now they have sabotaged the Post Office's ability to process the mail-in ballots...........

(106 posts)This smells like "ohh we are getting hit too" I don't think this report or the company they hired are bullshitting us by making crap up. But this smells like something is cooking from the con of diversions. I will vote in person to make sure, but I still don't think they have fixed the hacking of our voting systems around the country.
