Trumptilla organizer Carlos Gavidia says he is the victim of vindictive liberals in his former exclusive seaside community who targeted him because of his support for the president.

But a Jupiter police report released Tuesday portrays Gavidia as an aggressor who used anti-Semitic and sexist pejorative words in a confrontation with a resident at Admirals Cove and then later threatened his life through a text message.

Gavidia was formally charged with issuing a written threat to kill or do bodily injury, a second-degree felony that carries a maximum prison sentence of 15 years. Gavidia, who has become a national figure because of his boat parades, surrendered himself on Tuesday morning.

The Palm Beach County Jail said that Gavidia was in custody mid-afternoon Tuesday and slated for a first appearance in court Wednesday morning.

Gavidia then left the cafe but contacted the victim in a long text, stating “you (expletive) with the wrong guy. I’m coming for you,” according to the probable cause affidavit. He also texted “I’ve got nothing to lose but you have plenty like your life, you have no idea who I am,” the report states.

Gavidia served six months of a 20-month sentence for conspiracy to distribute marijuana. He was charged in 1998 in Alexandria, Va., and entered a plea the following year. Gavidia said it was a youthful mistake.

Gavidia is now 53, so he was 30 or over when distributing pot. Pushing it for "youthful", and in conjunction with "you fucked with the wrong guy. I'm coming for you ... you have no idea who I am", I'd say that would give the victim real cause to fear that a known criminal (who might have criminal connections still) was threatening his life.
