Joe Biden to visit Kenosha on Thursday, making his first campaign visit to Wisconsin

Source: Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel

MADISON - Former Vice President Joe Biden and his wife, Jill Biden, will visit Kenosha on Thursday.

His visit to Wisconsin comes just days after President Donald Trump toured the destructive aftermath of the shooting of Jacob Blake, who was shot seven times in the back by a police officer as he was trying to get into a vehicle.

It's the first visit to Wisconsin by the Democratic presidential nominee this year.

Just two weeks ago, Biden accepted his party's nomination from his hometown of Wilmington, Delaware, instead of Milwaukee after Democratic National Committee officials moved the national convention to a mostly virtual format due to the coronavirus pandemic.

I heard the NAACP said they didn’t want either candidate to come. And I know Jason’s family wants politics kept completely out of it.

(if anything here on DU) who keep attacking him for "not visiting WI". If anything, he can attempt to connect to Democrats there to make sure they get out the vote, regardless of all the other nightmares going on there and in every other state.

And in fact, blacks are abused and killed by police in EVERY state, and a few of those instances might go viral on the internet and make the national news... but it is unfortunately an everyday occurrence just about anywhere a black person lives or travels to.

This is truly a "lost year". And I thought the years after 9/11 were bad and I had considered them "lost years" too, but there is no comparison to the past 6 months (let alone all the months since the 2016 election).

Joe and the Blake family spent almost an hour talking the other day. They said it was like talking to a family member.

I am sure that Joe will be respectful and show compassion everywhere he goes.

Trump made this political, perhaps, Joe can bring some healing conversation.
