The presidential debates will be moderated by Chris Wallace, Steve Scully and Kristen Welker.

Source: NYT

The Commission on Presidential Debates has selected the moderators for the three debates between President Trump and former Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. this fall, as well as the single vice-presidential debate, according to a person familiar with the planning.

Chris Wallace, the “Fox News Sunday” anchor, will moderate the first debate on Sept. 29, to be held in Cleveland, the person said.

The second debate, a town hall-style forum scheduled for Oct. 15 in Miami, will be moderated by Steve Scully of C-SPAN.

And the final one, on Oct. 22 in Nashville, will be moderated by Kristen Welker of NBC.

Trump will run all over her as she has shown to be the epitome of "bothsiderism."

Shit, Nicolle Wallace, Joy Reid, Weija Jang (CBS), Yamiche Alcindor (PBS), Christiane Amanpour (CNN/PBS) even Katie Couric, would be immensely better IMO. Rachel, normally, yes, but she might be too nice to deal with Trump.

He has called her nasty as well when she has aked pin point questions, causing him to change the subject. Biden will be at ease. Trump will do his best to avoid her questions. He does that to avoid telling the truth, Trump will lose. For Joe knows where Trump's weaknesses are.

My gut says his lack of contact with reality will make the first debate a real circus. AND, the debates being held at night will run the risk of coinciding with a bout of 'sundowning'.

I'm thinking Trump thinks himself the greatest MAGAt of all time (who can argue with that?), the debates like a World Series, and he's the slugger trying to win the game with home runs, or the reliever brought in to save the game by throwing smoke. After all, he thinks all the historical figures in American History are with him because he's one of them, naturally. Imperiousness, pomposity, anger, and buffoonery.

He won't be able to pull that whole lurking, attempted intimidation routine like he pulled on Hillary. I don't know if he can make it though a single episode of Joe calling him out on a lie. And, if Joe should correct him on, or even appear to be suppressing something close to a laugh at some totally outrageous thing he says - that might be the trigger.

It was an effective debate strategy against Carter. Biden needs a similar catchphrase he can use repeatedly when Trump has gone off into la la land or is telling another whopper of a lie. I liked his comment that Trump doesn’t seem to know that he’s been president for over three years and this his his America.

in fact the suppression could become a meme..

However, a deadpan "Jack Benny" look right at the camera could really take off.

There are a lot of cheeky things Biden could do to break #45 's stride; Hillary would not have done them no matter how badly she wanted to because she was in a damned if you do damned if you don't situation.

He could put his face in his hands as if he is weeping...then come up with that Ridin' With Biden grin...

He could just turn and stare at him, hand on chin .

Biden is quite capable of getting him so bumfuzzled that he might just throw down the pen and stalk off the stage. I would pay to see that, frankly

Finally, his 'countdown' on the next question includes any time he takes to again bring up an answer he failed to finish on previously due to all the lying and blathering.

Can't have him stalking behind our next real President like he did to Hillary.

if there were actual debates, where intelligent people debated a position that would be something else. But any intelligence of an issue, is replaced with antics, accusations, and showmanship. Like fake-wrestling matches, with the referee missing in action.

Washington (CNN)

Former Vice President Joe Biden said he would "beat the hell out of" President Donald Trump if they were in high school over his crude comments about women.

"When a guy who ended up becoming our national leader said, 'I can grab a woman anywhere and she likes it' and then said, 'I made a mistake,'" Biden said Tuesday of Trump, according to video of the remarks posted on Facebook by the University of Miami College Democrats.

"They asked me would I like to debate this gentleman, and I said no. I said, 'If we were in high school, I'd take him behind the gym and beat the hell out of him,'" said Biden, getting laughter and applause from the crowd at the University of Miami.

Looking forward to these debates!
