South Dakota has been marketing itself as a State free from any COVID-19 related restrictions, so it will be interesting to see whether the Governor continues to stick to her Trump talking points as cases rise.

(34,661 posts)The largest Hospital Facilities are in Souix Falls,Sanford Clinic, owned by T.Denny Sanford who was charged with child Pornography on Tuesday, and the VA center. Otherwise, most Hospitals are few and far between. Rapid City has the only large facility on the west side of the State.
Watertown has believe only four ICU beds that I recall when a family member spent a few weeks there. Brookings about the same. There is a small VA facility in Yankton,so Kristy Noam is up sh*t crik without a paddle.

Scroll down to the "Cases and deaths by state and county" table.
Sort it by the "per 100,000" column that follows the "cases in last 7 days" column
And all 3 states are sharply rising as seen by the little maps of each and every state near the top of the page, with the exception of Iowa which peaked at 1187 cases on August 31, and is 887 on September 3, the latest, so a surprising sudden sharp drop (these are 7 day averages)

(34,661 posts)Used to be on our Summer visiting the Rellies thingee for fifteen years. Last trip turned to crap with all the Trumping going on. Sold the Lake lot and said to hell with it. All the locals turned hard core hate monkers and Racist, nuf said.
So when Covid hit the Meat and Cheese plants, you just knew all hell would break loose. When you saw two and three Families living in rental houses, mostly old farm stead houses were the wind comes in the North side and goes out the South ,you just knew it was going to take one hell of a toll.
Same crap is happening in Iowa and Southern Minnesota, and the local Business people could give a damn less, just lay your money on the counter and get your ass out of my store.
As my Spouse said three years ago,you know,we do not need this crap and have not been back.
