Parts of Las Vegas Strip packed with visitors on Labor Day weekend

Parts of the Strip and downtown Las Vegas were teeming with tourists Saturday night, many of them not wearing masks, sparking concerns that Nevada’s COVID-19 safety protocols are being ignored in crowded hot spots.

Large crowds were observed in front of the Fountains of Bellagio, the Forum Shops at Caesars and the Linq Promenade. Crowds were seen with many people in close proximity and many of them without masks on or worn under their chins, after Gov. Steve Sisolak mandated face coverings in June.

Many infectious disease experts had voiced concern that large gatherings over the holiday weekend could trigger a rise in infections, deaths and hospitalizations, such as those that followed the Memorial Day and Fourth of July holidays.

“I was expecting there to be way fewer people,” Clark said Sunday afternoon. “And I’m amazed at how many people are completely disregarding the masks and social distancing.”

Traffic was too busy for me to get a good look at whether people had masks on. Hubby went bike riding on a trail that goes by a different set of soccer fields and he said they were packed, too. I guess Covid is over. Huh.

2. Video shows South Carolina college students crowding bar as COVID-19 cases spike

The problem is that this comes from the top down with the President repeatedly dismissing and pretending that the COVID pandemic has already been taken care of while selling the idea that a vaccine discovery will immediately fix everything even before it has been tested and distributed. The U.S. could have gotten this under control, but we have President who repeatedly denied the risk and is now covering up his lack of response.

Video from Thursday night shows college students crowding a bar near the University of South Carolina, with many appearing to break social distancing and mask-wearing guidelines.

The university's student-run news station first reported on the video, saying students were going to the TLC Sports Bar because they knew coronavirus guidelines were not enforced.

5. OMG! He describes Fremont Street as "a different kind of church" (?)! Sure. Let's call it a C-19 .

Church! Makes sense!(?) Was in Vegas right there in prepandemic 2019 twice. Now in 2020, Fremont St. was just as crowded if not MORE! It's ALL about the $ & NOT people's health!...
