Trump's net worth fell $600 million in last year: Forbes

Source: The Hill

President Trump's net worth fell by an estimated $600 million in the past year, Forbes reported on Tuesday.

Trump is still on the magazine's new list of the 400 richest Americans, but he has dropped 64 spots to number 339.

Forbes attributed the decline in Trump’s net worth to the coronavirus, noting the pandemic's effects on the industries in which he holds his biggest assets. Values for his office buildings plummeted, as they did for his hotels in big cities.

Trump saw big dips in his New York real estate this year, according to Forbes. He owns 30 percent stake in office and retail space in 1290 Avenue of the Americas, with a net value of $342 million. The property's value declined $109 million in the last year, the magazine noted.

...before this happened.
Now, the inflated starting point probably means the decline is inflated.
But, the Moody's creditworthiness report in 2018 suggested net worth was under $2 billion, before the debt to Deutsche Bank & the state bank of China was revealed.
Add the Russian debt idiot junior admitted to, and the net worth falls to well under a billion.
Again BEFORE these recent devaluations.

He owns pieces of real estate and resorts with a gross price on them. How much does he owe creditors (Russian banks?) He might be worth a $2 billion on paper but he may owe $3 billion to creditors. As he businesses are failing due to Covid, interest and principal keep accruing. A day of reckoning could be coming for Trump's family.

A person's true worth is the value of his worldly goods if they were to be sold, plus money in the bank, minus debts.

There's no way Forbes has all those numbers.

And you can't do good math with guestimate numbers.
