Seattle mayor says Barr's suggestions to charge her are 'chilling'

Source: CNN

(CNN)Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan on Wednesday said a report that Attorney General William Barr suggested prosecutors consider filing charges against her is "chilling and the latest abuse of power from the Trump administration."

Barr, The New York Times reported, asked prosecutors in the Justice Department's civil rights division to investigate if they could charge Durkan as a result of protests this summer, when some protesters established a police-free zone in downtown Seattle.

"The Department of Justice cannot become a political weapon operated at the behest of the President to target those who have spoken out against this administration's actions," Durkan, a former US attorney, said in a statement. "That is an act of tyranny, not of democracy."

"Ultimately, this is not a story about me. It is about the how this President and his Attorney General are willing to subvert the law and use the Department of Justice for political purposes," she added. "It is particularly egregious to try to use the civil rights laws to investigate, intimidate, or deter those that are fighting for civil rights in our country."

maybe even more. I'm not sure Barr is doing some of this stuff at the behest of King Donny. He's power mad to the max, and I think his theory of unitary executive extends to "the president's lawyer" as well, although he's not Trump's lawyer.

Together, Trump and Barr et al. are one huge unconstitutional organized crime syndicate. If we had a Justice Department they could use the RICO Act to wipe the entire Trumpian swamp off the map. Trump used say, "Where's my Roy Cohn?" From now on the quote will be, "Where's my Bill Barr?" Barr has made Roy Cohn look like a first year intern.

Also check your state’s website. Your county website should also have information about where to vote or how to get a mail-in ballot.

Want to find some, look into his
finances.
When he was head of Verizon legal dept.
He made a trip or 2 to Russia. Did he
get bonus ? who paid for it? Another
Russian connection. Why wasn't this
brought out at his conformation hearing?
So many have or had dealings with
Russia. Of course when you deal with
Russia you deal with Putin.
