Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Champion Of Gender Equality, Dies At 87
Source: NPR.org
Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, the demure firebrand who in her 80s became a legal, cultural, and feminist icon has died. The Supreme Court announced her death, saying the cause was complications from cancer. Architect of the legal fight for women's rights in the 1970s, Ginsburg subsequently served 27 years on the nation's highest court, becoming its most prominent member. Her death will inevitably set in motion what promises to be a nasty and tumultuous political battle over who will succeed her, and it thrusts the Supreme Court vacancy into the spotlight of the presidential campaign. Til Nov. It's holding off until Jan 20 or whenever inauguration is.
Time for true out of the box thinking and acting. If Trump was in this situation, hell, he'd have it somehow tied up in court. Course we have Barr headwinds too. Trump submitted 21 names to Mitch last month. |

Let's hope the Dems have lots of maneuvering ideas to slow this down as much as possible.
This is all just too much to bear. Trump, Covid, the Economy, Fires, (we just found out our up hill neighbor's sewer line runs under our house and is possibly failing), and RBG. Good grief! |

I hope this drives home the fact that election have consequences. We all have to vote, because I guarantee that the Evangelicals will be energized to get another RW justice. And, especially in this election, a vote for anyone other than Biden is a vote for Trump.

Make them afraid of consequences if they do this. Make it the talk daily on every national news outlet how they refused to allow an Obama nominee in his last year, and they are hypocrites if they ram through a replacement for RBG.
Part 2 of the message is wait until after the election and let the winner choose this critical nominee. They will probably do it anyway but at least it should be at the expense of going against millions and millions of Americans taking to the streets. |

You are advocating the destruction of the Constitution. Why not just go all out for autocracy?

Condolences to everybody! She was very beloved, and deserves to lie in State.
You just knew this was going to happen. Why else rush a list of nominees? But, we are not doomed. Don't let this pull you off center. Our job and duty is to vote the Orange Monster et al out of office! What terrible news on this first day of voting! But, we can't give up! We have lost an icon, but "Let's punish the Repubs!" I can go 33 hours without sleep. Every blasted time I sleep and wake up, something horrendous has happened. Sh*t, this sucks... |

from getting another appointment. Moscow Mitch will get it right through. We are well and truly fucked. Thanks to the Never Hillary assholes who insisted the Supreme Court didn't matter. Of course, it didn't matter to them due to their privilege, and god forbid they think about anyone but themselves.

Rest peacefully, RBG. You were a shining light on the Supreme Court and your fighting spirit did much for our nation and it's citizens. You will be missed.
