Trump claims vaccine coming 'within a matter of weeks,' contradicting health officials

President Donald Trump predicted Monday that a coronavirus vaccine would become available “within a matter of weeks,” again contradicting the assessments of his own administration’s top public health officials.

“I’m getting it very soon, within a matter of weeks,” Trump told “Fox & Friends” in an interview, adding: “I would say that you’ll have it long before the end of the year, maybe. Maybe by the end of October.”

The president previously said earlier this month that a vaccine would “probably” be ready in October — just a day after Moncef Slaoui, head of the administration’s efforts to hasten vaccine development, said it was “very unlikely” a vaccine would be approved by early November.

Last Wednesday, Trump publicly rebuked CDC Director Robert Redfield after Redfield told congressional lawmakers that while a vaccine could become available by November or December, it would likely not be “generally available to the American public” until the late second quarter or early third quarter of next year.

He says them, I think, because the hapless folks who support him will believe him, even if what he says is the BUNK. He needs people to buy his cons. He knows no other way of proceeding except through the con. It's gobsmacking sick.

The 9 drug companies currently working on a vaccine made a joint statement saying they will not be rushed into releasing a vaccine that hasn’t been fully tested..including Moderna which said maybe late spring.

Just can’t get those pesky drug companies to cooperate!!

Imagine the law suits from a rushed vaccine...they know better.
