Source: Channel 3000

MADISON, Wis. — Wisconsin health officials have recorded more than 1,300 new cases of COVID-19 throughout the state Monday.

The latest numbers come after the state surpassed 100,000 confirmed cases of the virus Sunday. An additional 1,489 cases have brought Wisconsin’s lifetime total to 102,741* as of Monday afternoon, according to state and county health officials. Of those cases, 14.1% are still active.

The state Department of Health Services said 6,796 people were tested in the past 24 hours. While still high, the positive percentage of new tests has dropped to 18.7%. The seven-day average positivity rate is now at 16.4%.

Three more people in Wisconsin have died due to coronavirus complications, bringing the state’s death toll to 1,247. DHS officials said another 39 have been hospitalized, which is a slight increase from Sunday’s hospitalizations.

What can a court do? It can issue a hyperpartisan ruling to cause more thousands of people to die in an effort undermine a Democratic Governor's efforts to fight the pandemic. Before the court's ruling, Wisconsin was in a pretty good position.

Wisconsin Supreme Court invalidates state's COVID-19 stay-at-home order

(Reuters) - The Wisconsin Supreme Court struck down a statewide coronavirus stay-at-home order on Wednesday, siding with a legal challenge from Republican lawmakers who said the state’s top public health official exceeded her authority by imposing the restrictions.

While lockdown orders meant to quell the pandemic have been challenged in court in several states, the decision in Wisconsin marked the first such lawsuit to succeed in a larger political debate over social distancing that has grown increasingly partisan.

At stake in Wisconsin was a “Safer at Home” order that had been extended through May 26 by the state’s secretary for the Department of Health Services, Andrea Palm, acting at the direction of Governor Tony Evers.

The court ruled that while Evers, a first-term Democrat, possesses emergency powers as governor, the stay-at-home directive was effectively imposed by Palm, whose discretion as a political appointee is more limited.

but fortunately our elected State Supreme Court is 5 (2) - 2 (R) allowed the Governor's actions to stand - and basically because it is encoded in state law and part of the state Constitution!

4. Is It A Coincidence That South Dakota and Wisconsin Lead the Nation In + Testing Rates?

With South Dakota, it is due to the extremist views of its Governor who has aggressively pushed tourism in the midst of the pandemic, including Sturgis. Now, its positivity rate is close to 20 percent.

With Wisconsin, you have a State Supreme Court that has struck down state and local attempts to control the pandemic. Thus, its positivity rate is also closing in on 20 percent.

Obviously, we are infested with maskless Trumplodytes here, but I'm also thinking outside the box. Some smaller pests may be doing harm too.
