Debate organizers reveal 6 topics for first Trump-Biden showdown

Source: Politico

Debate organizers have decided the six debate topics for next week’s showdown between President Donald Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden.

According to a person familiar with the planning, the 90-minute debate will be divided into six 15-minute discussion areas. They include: Trump's and Biden’s records, the Supreme Court, the coronavirus pandemic, race and violence in cities, election integrity, and the economy.

The first debate is on Tuesday, Sept. 29 and will be moderated by Fox News anchor Chris Wallace.

I can already hear what he's going to say for each topic - one Gish Gallop of lies after the other. How do you debate that?

They lay so many false claims out all at once that you can't refute them in the time you have.

I've heard that there is a technique for dealing with it among trained debaters, but cannot recall at the moment what it was. Not sure it is applicable to political speeches.

devoid of any discussion worth listening too, Biden should be prepared with a stem-winder of a lecture for trump, then leave the stage refusing to participate in a colossal waste of time.

In his opening statement, he should put trump on notice that he's there in good faith to be part of a conversation for the voters, but that if it devolves into a shit show that he won't be a part of it.
