Majority says winner of presidential election should nominate next Supreme Court justice, Post-ABC p

A majority of Americans oppose efforts by President Trump and the Republican-led Senate to fill a Supreme Court vacancy before the presidential election, with most supporters of Democratic candidate Joe Biden saying the issue has raised the stakes of the election, according to a Washington Post-ABC News poll.
The Post-ABC poll, conducted Monday to Thursday, finds 38 percent of Americans say the replacement for Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who died last week, should be nominated by Trump and confirmed by the current Senate, while 57 percent say it should be left to the winner of the presidential election and a Senate vote next year.
Partisans are deeply divided on the issue, though clear majorities of political independents (61 percent) and women (64 percent) say the next justice should be chosen by the winner of this falls election, including about half of each group who feel this way strongly. . . .

(22,120 posts)20 point blowouts will never happen again, we're far too divided. Biden wins by 4-7 points.

(7,334 posts)And I respectfully disagree - this year is like no other. The Killer Clown will get his base - 35% plus a small % of others. 40% +/-.
Massive turnout unlike any seen before in modern times will net Joe 60% +/-.
I believe. I believe that We will win. Massively.
GOTV!!!!!

(22,120 posts)But I'm bookmarking this, so expect an "I told you so" comment in November.
One thing I will say though: Biden is ahead in most polls by 7-9 points. A elections get closer, the incumbent almost always picks up more votes. Trump losing another 11 to 13 points would be unheard of. And his base is not 35%, it's 43%. Overconfidence doesn't win elections. "60% +" I'd bet my life Biden won't get.

(7,334 posts)Trump loses no matter what.
And not overconfident - just being optimistic. I'm still working my ass off to GOTV. That massive Blue Wave will not start itself.
