Big money flows to Trump to counter Bloomberg

Source: Politico

The newest super PAC supporting Donald Trump’s reelection has spent more than $80 million in the last month, providing a badly needed boost to the president as his campaign faces a cash crunch and he confronts an avalanche of liberal money.

Preserve America, an outfit that has the backing of GOP megadonors, has suddenly become one of the biggest outside group spenders of the 2020 campaign. Its most recent investment is a $25 million TV ad buy featuring a Kenosha, Wisconsin man accusing Democrat Joe Biden of refusing to stand up to rioters who burned down his small business.

The infusion has given Trump some cover as an array of liberal super PACs descend on swing states. Billionaire former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg has launched a $100 million blitz in Florida – a massive sum for a single state.

But Biden’s advertising advantage over Trump is more concerning for the president. Biden out-paced Trump more than 2-to-1 on the airwaves last week, according to the media tracking firm Advertising Analytics.

Bernie Marcus, the Home Depot guy.

I don't know where the $80 mil figure is sourced from, its spending doesn't look even close to Biden's spending.

They have to know he will spend it unwisely and that some will go in Dump's pocket.

Tax experts say it's possible that businesses are using an aggressive interpretation of the law to wring a tax advantage out of their donations to these groups.

It's almost impossible to know whether it's happening, partly because the groups— also known by their IRS designation as 501(c)(4)s—aren't required to disclose their donors. (That's why the contributions have been dubbed "dark money.&quot

Not all. At least now for our side. Because really, who's got the time to track all that, which is precisely why it does work for both Trump and them, because somewhere along the way, people participate in giving energy and power to that class or mafia construct, imo.

includes "the backing of several prominent Republican donors including casino tycoon Sheldon Adleson and Home Depot founder Bernie Marcus."

"The group called "Preserve America," will be run by veteran GOP operative Chris LaCivita who is best known as the architect of the group "Swift Boat Veterans for Truth," which hammered the war record of Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry in 2004.
Preserve America will start to air ads Tuesday in the battleground states of Florida, Georgia, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Wisconsin, Iowa and Arizona. They plan to invest $25 million in television ads and another $5 million in digital ads.
The investment comes two months before the election as Trump continues to trail former Vice President Joe Biden in the polls, and to win Trump would have to be the first incumbent in over 70 years to come from behind after trailing following the major party conventions."

It’s not what is raised but how it is spent.

Undecided voters are not convinced by TV commercials from candidates who whine how much of a pathetic victim they are.

But go ahead, burn through more cash on a candidate who is happy to lose other peoples’ money all his life. 😂😂

The fake one seen on tv when Trump went to Kenosha. That business that was burned down did not belong to the man who was talking to Trump. He had sold the business a year before and the actual owner refused to interview with Trump. So Trump found the old owner. It would be interesting to find out who is actually in those commercials. And maybe counter them with the actual owner.
