Ex-Trump campaign manager Brad Parscale knocked to the ground to end standoff, body camera footage shows.

FORT LAUDERDALE — Bradley Parscale, former campaign manager to president Donald Trump, was in the middle of an armed standoff with police at his Fort Lauderdale home when unexpected help arrived: Officer Christopher Wilson, a personal friend.

Fort Lauderdale police on Monday released records detailing how Sunday’s standoff unfolded at Parscale’s home, starting with his wife’s call for help and ending with officers detaining Parscale for psychiatric evaluation. Officers recovered 10 firearms from his home, including several pistols, a shotgun and rifle, and saw that Parscale’s wife had bruises on her arm and face.

Bradley Parscale’s standoff with police officers happened Sunday afternoon in the 2300 block of DeSoto Drive, where Parscale, 44, lives with his wife, Candice Parscale.

The confrontation with officers started after an argument between the couple. Candice Parscale says her husband chambered a round into a pistol during a heated exchange between the two.

Officer Timothy Skaggs was the first to arrive at the neighbor’s house, records show. He witnessed bruising on Candice Parscale’s arm and face. She told him that the injuries had come from Bradley Parscale, though she said she’d gotten them earlier that week.

We still need to remember that this was a tragedy that was narrowly averted. The outcome could have been tragic for several lives. As it is, it is still the destruction of a family played out on a public stage due to the man’s notoriety. This is another example of everything in tRump’s orbit frequently having a bad outcome either for the individual or society in general.

As much as it pains me to say it, this is sad and unenviable. These people had wealth and privilege and still ended up in such a mess. Money buys a lot but it won’t buy happiness, sanity or security. The lesson here is that no one is immune to personal tragedy.

But I know anyone at the edge of suicide is to be pitied, even if his own bad decisions landed him in the place he is now. This is man who somehow managed to propel himself to a very high standard of living. He, of course, used some terrible means to do it when he could have used his intelligence to do things honestly. Hence, the loathing I feel for so many under tRump’s umbrella of deceit and dishonesty.

I think as this whole thing unravels we will find a lot of people with mental disorders and personality issues that make them vulnerable starting right at the top with tRump. They often seem to choose the deviant path and get away with that for many years. tRump’s day of recking may be closing in on him, and, it appears, others as well.
