Kentucky AG agrees to release grand jury tapes in Breonna Taylor case
Source: Politico
Kentuckys attorney general has agreed to release the recordings of the secret grand jury proceeding that considered charges against three officers involved in the fatal shooting of Breonna Taylor.
Attorney General Daniel Cameron agreed to the release hours after a member of the grand jury sued to have the record of the proceedings opened to the public.
Cameron also said in a statement that the only charge he recommended to the grand jury was wanton endangerment. He had previously declined to provide details on what charges prosecutors brought to the grand jury to consider when it met last week.
Last week, the grand jury in Louisville issued charges against one of the officers for endangering neighbors of Taylor who had bullets fired into their home. None of the the officers were charged in the killing of Taylor, who was shot five times after officers knocked down her door to serve a narcotics warrant serving a warrant on March 13.

(94,333 posts)...you have to come up with another Conspiracy Theory about why nobody on the Grand Jury comes forward to say that the tapes are altered.

(189 posts)I served on a grand jury in ohio and if Im not mistaken they recorded the witness testimonies and the prosecutors questions but they didnt record the deliberations of the jury members.I found that the prosecutor pretty much sways you the way they want .In a 4 day week where probably we had a average of 75 cases presented we voted with his or her recommendation all but maybe 4 times. The defendants in the case usually didnt testify so you dont hear their side of the story so you are highly likely to have a indictment or true - bill unless you being pushed not to indict.

(34,131 posts)The grand jury member(s) may want more charges than that single one but had no option to select additional charges.

(34,131 posts)It's only if there had been a charge that involved the murder of Breonna Taylor that double jeopardy would kick in. So far none of the officers had been charged with anything due to her death, or even the obvious coverup that has happened since.
