Jewish Democratic Council compares Trump's America to 1930s Germany in new ad

The Jewish Democratic Council of America (JDCA) compared President Trump's America to the rise of fascism and anti-Semitism in 1930s Germany in a new ad targeting Jewish voters in swing states.

The 30-second ad released Tuesday includes images and video footage from Nazi Germany in a split-screen with images and photos of Trump rallies in addition to examples of anti-Semitism and white supremacy in the U.S. since Trump took office.

"History shows us what happens when leaders use hatred and nationalism to divide their people," the narrator says.

"As anti-Semitism and white nationalism rise to dangerous levels in America, we are all less secure. It's time to show that we've learned from the darkest moments in history. Hate doesn't stop itself. It must be stopped. Vote - our future depends on it."

That the United States of America for the past three-plus years has been very similar to Germany in about 1934. I hope and pray that we can roll that back on Nov. 3.

My 93 year old mother and her 86 year old sister were young girls during Hitler's rise to power. Both of them are terrified that if this Orange Liar in Chief is elected again, this is where our country is headed. They were not Jewish, although my grandfather lost his business because he refused to join the Nazi party. My grandmother helped Jewish friends escape and could never talk about any of it out loud, in case one of the kids would inadvertently say something that would put them all in danger. It was a terrifying time for them, and they do not want to live through anything like this again.

This administration is the closest attempt the world has ever seen since WWII at resurrecting the nightmare of fascism and totalitarian terror. As an amateur historian, I have studied and followed the money (lost nazi gold, where is it??? It never was "lost".) I wonder about the powers behind the throne and where all the money and fanaticism comes from. Look at the Peron's and Argentina. Evita was not and is not the heroin she is made out to be. What about Bariloche and the Eden Hotel? Look at Franco's Spain. Look at the Catholic Church, Evita and the rat lines. We are still fighting that war and for the freedom of humanity. It has never ended.
