Graham, Harrison spar over SCOTUS and Covid-19 in fiery Senate debate

Source: Politico

Jaime Harrison and Lindsey Graham have been battling it out over the airwaves for months. On Saturday night, as the surprisingly competitive South Carolina Senate race has reached a fever pitch, they finally met face-to-face on the debate stage.

Harrison accused Graham of flip flopping on his word and breaking the trust of his voters. Graham, the three-term GOP incumbent, warned South Carolinians they wouldn’t recognize their country if Democrats took control in Washington.

Those two arguments took center stage in a fiery debate held one month before Election Day. The two disagreed on Covid-19 response, the upcoming Supreme Court confirmation fight Graham will head, and police reform, among a host of other issues — including the flood of TV ads unleashed on the state, thanks to Harrison’s prodigious fundraising and the late involvement of super PACs from both parties in a race that is unexpectedly competitive.

That South Carolina is being actively contested this close to the election is an alarm bell for Republicans about the state of their majority, as they are forced to defend a deep-red state that was not expected to be up for grabs while Democrats fight to flip the chamber.

..... his family-owned 3 business. Only once was that legitimately an answer to the question.

He didn't respond to any question that would have shown him to oppose Trump's crazy social security cuts.

He admits to having THREE retire incomes in his future. But apparently doesn't care about the working people of this country having even ONE retirement plan.

He whined, just like Trump. "everybody is against me." He had more whiny excuse of why he hasn't done anything to show he is an independent republican and not simply a Trump cultist.

He said Trump had improved the military..... the part of the military that sends millions/billions to the military-industrial complex. So they can, in turn, "donate" millions back to the Trump family? Why are there still military members who are on food stamps? Why are their military members that have had to serve multiple combat tours overseas? Where was he when Trump forced Col.Vindman and his brother to leave the military? Why didn't he defend President Obama's RIGHT to nominate Merrick Garland to SCOTUS and at least have a hearing?

His opponent Jaime Harrison deserves to be elected to the Senate. Term limit Graham!

Oh, and Graham is right liberals hate his two-faced hypocrisy.

And I do not doubt that someone(s) has kompromat on Graham.

He brought a plexiglass shield, he went after Leningrad Lindsey on his record, used his own words against him and called Grahams position on SCOTUS like playing monopoly with his son, changes the rules depending on who's turn it is.

Here there are tons of Jamie Harrison signs and Joe Cunningham yard signs.
I saw a few Graham and Mace signs this morning, this is the first I have seen either.

Damn right!

A non-politicized FDA and CDC helping to guide the country through a pandemic!

A refurbished and functioning post office!

A foreign policy with a view towards stability!

A border/immigration policy that seeks to augment that foreign policy stability with an eye to compassion for the most vulnerable among us.

A view of race relations that strives (probably imperfectly) towards brotherhood and reconciliation!

My god!!! The horror! The horror!

Unmarked vans snatching protesters off the streets? Children separated from their parents and locked in cages? An entire country shut down because of an inept response to a pandemic? Lindsey is a fool, and he should have been called out for that comment.

There is no honor in Country and Democracy. There is just party above all else, and by any means and any cost, country be damned. They are now a party without a platform. They renounced their principles and replaced it with anarchy & trumpism. In doing so they've renounced their souls.

Of course not, the hate, the filth, the corruption, the incompetence, the evil, the lies, etc. will be gone when Democrats take Washington.

You mean the grocery store would have full shelves again?
We could travel to other countries again?
Someone at the executive branch might actually do something to thwart the virus?

Yup wouldn't recognize the country b/c it would no longer be a laughing stock on the road to 3rd world status.
