Facebook removes Trump post falsely saying flu is more lethal than Covid

Source: CNN

(CNN) - Facebook on Tuesday removed a post from President Trump in which he falsely claimed that Covid-19 is less deadly than the seasonal flu.

Facebook spokesperson Andy Stone confirmed the company removed the post for breaking its rules on Covid-19 misinformation.

The President also posted the same message on Twitter. That post is still live. Twitter declined to comment.

We have him on tape from February 7 telling Woodward that COVID-19 is five times more lethal than the flu.

Yes, he's a pathological liar. But a lie like this? When that tape has been in the news for three or four weeks?

Trump and his ******** allies are lying when they claim Covid-19 is not a big deal and can deal with it just like the flu. Trump claims that nearly 100,000 can possibly die from the flu. Another lie. Earlier he was claiming 25,000 to 69,000.

Doctors in general do not have patients or see anyone in hospitals that have died from the flu.

In the last six flu seasons, the CDC’s reported number of actual confirmed flu deaths—that is, counting flu deaths the way we are currently counting deaths from the coronavirus—has ranged from 3,448 to 15,620, which far lower than the numbers commonly repeated by public officials and even public health experts. That averages to 69 to 312 deaths from the flu per year in each state. In an 8 month period for the 2019-2020 season there have been 132 flu associated deaths in Indiana.

Here in Indiana there have been 3,711 deaths due to Covid-19 after 7 months.

So how is Covid-19 not more severe than the seasonal flu?

Comparing COVID-19 Deaths to Flu Deaths Is like Comparing Apples to Oranges

The numbers for Indiana I got from the state health department.
