President Trump said Tuesday that he has instructed his top aides to stop negotiating with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) on future coronavirus stimulus legislation until after the November election.

Trump, who is himself currently being treated for COVID-19, accused Pelosi in a series of tweets of "not negotiating in good faith" and seeking "bailouts" for states poorly run by Democratic officials.

"I have instructed my representatives to stop negotiating until after the election when, immediately after I win, we will pass a major Stimulus Bill that focuses on hardworking Americans and Small Business," Trump tweeted.

Trump thinking that the Congress takes orders from him and republicans believing it.

It's been this way for Trump's entire term. Congress is free to pass any laws they want to pass, and if they can over-ride a veto. the President has nothing to say about it. But McConnell has said on multiple occasions that a bill can not become law unless the President signs it, like he doesn't know 8th grade civics.

If some republicans in Congress would grow a spine they could tell Trump to go fuck himself and completely change the dynamic.
