ALBANY — President Trump passed up on an opportunity to do some good as he recovers from coronavirus, according to Gov. Cuomo.
The governor, who recently sent the president and First Lady Melania Trump a care package, panned the commander-in-chief’s recent comments downplaying and denying the severity of the deadly virus.
“I think the President has an opportunity that he is missing and I think he has an opportunity to do a public service and I think he’s right now doing the public a disservice,” Cuomo said during a press briefing Tuesday in Albany.
Trump returned to the White House a day earlier following a three-night hospital stay after coming down with COVID-19. Prior to his diagnosis, the president repeatedly clashed with health experts, questioned the efficacy of masks and offered unfounded advice as the disease killed more than 209,000 in the U.S.
