Dramatically fewer voters said they intend to cast ballots for President Donald Trump after he was diagnosed with COVID-19, according to a new poll.
A poll released Tuesday by Franklin Pierce University and The Boston Herald shows Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden's lead grew from 5 percent before the positive test result to 21 percent after Trump's diagnosis was announced.
Biden was supported by 46 percent of likely voters compared to 41 percent for Trump during the two days before his infection was revealed, while 55 percent said they would vote for Biden and only 34 percent stuck with Trump in the three days after the diagnosis.
The poll was conducted nationally among 1,003 likely voters over the phone and online between September 30 and October 4, with a 3.1 percent margin of error. When results from all five days of the survey are included, Biden holds an overall 51 percent to 37 percent lead over Trump.

(6,931 posts)Here we go again. His rich Airline buddies get theirs, those "business" owners who take the money and buy Trump 2020 billboards get theirs but millions and millions who truly need another $1200 stimulus check can fuck off.
What would make anyone with a brain think that KING CON would suddenly crank out those checks starting on Nov 4th?!?!

(47,418 posts)this is the kind of poll results I would have expected months ago. I guess the "final straw" for different voters really varies and perhaps more people are actually paying attention now.

In case you haven't ever seen this race:
Just ironic that the horse who came in a distant second was named Sham.

(22,062 posts)I remember watching the race on TV with other horsey friends, and we were pulling for little Sham. But Secretariat had a couple of other gears. I read once that he had a 17 foot stride.

Bayard
(22,062 posts)And he won both of those.
The Belmont is the longest race of the Triple Crown at 1& 1/2 miles, so by that time, the field is considerably narrowed, even though other horses can qualify that were not in the other races.
The Derby is is 1 & 1/4. The Preakness is 1& 3/16 mile.

(19,060 posts)It wasn't just that Trump got Covid, it's that his entire White House seemingly got it. Even though he's not in the hospital any monger, this is still getting worse for him because almost hourly a new patient is identified that had contact with him.

RicROC
(1,204 posts)Many of these polls consist of 300-400 people which gives a larger Margin of Error, like 4.5%.
This poll has over 1000 people polled. Margin of Error = 3.1%.
I'd like to see a poll consisting of 2000+ people. Of course, once you get over 52%, maybe the MofE does not as mean as much.
