Trump wanted to work from Oval Office upon returning from hospital, aides say

Source: The Hill

White House economic adviser Larry Kudlow said Wednesday that President Trump visited the Oval Office on Tuesday, five days after being diagnosed with COVID-19 and as he continues to receive treatment for the virus.

“The president actually showed up in the Oval Office yesterday with extra precautions with respect to his COVID-19. He’s getting a lot better, he’s much stronger, so there was some limited activity,” Kudlow said during a phone interview on CNBC.

Kudlow also did not directly answer when asked if Trump was wearing a mask when he came into the Oval Office, saying only that aides took “additional precautions.”

“I can’t be specific ... this is the work of the top rung of the federal government. The president, as you have seen, has been masking quite a bit and everyone else who comes into contact in the Oval -- the traffic is limited as you might expect -- but there are additional precautions, additional measures that have been taken, much greater than simply masking,” Kudlow said.

Mr. Trump has never done a lick of work of any kind. If he tried to read a report, it would mean nothing to him, as he has a short vocabulary word list.

But Meadows’s team said Kudlow misspoke, and that Trump did not actually make it into the Oval Office.

... but Trump does what Trump wants to do. Who knows though, all of them lie constantly.

from going in there yesterday.

One issue I also have is since they have to fumigate everywhere he goes, there are artifacts and artwork in there, some of which may be hundreds of years old, that could get virus spewed all over it. And then that means the rooms would then require fumigating, which could cause damage to stuff in there. That's why they try to keep people isolated in one room.

Remember it wasn't just the "principals" who got infected. A bunch from the press pool and the WH media staff also got infected from interactions with people who attended the Rose Garden massacre. Any aerosolized particles can just float in the air for some time. I think I saw a thread here on GD that had an article that tallied it up to 27 people so far (IIRC).

There are housekeepers and other maintenance staff who are "invisible people" (like the rest who clean up after other people) who can and have been infected by the Typhoid Toms and Typhoid Marys.

From what I gather (from years of commentaries from previous Presidents), the place undergoes pest control and is fumigated all the time for rats, mice, probably roach...errr... "palmetto bugs" etc.). In this case, they are doing sanitizing so they may be using some kind of standard (EPA-approved/CDC-recommended) commercial product. But I expect that in certain "sensitive/historic" areas of the WH, they would need to evaluate what products to use.

President Trump is in Oval Office

From CNN's Jim Acosta

President Trump is back in the Oval Office and is being briefed on stimulus talks and the hurricane, White House deputy communications director Brian Morgenstern told pool reporters.

Of course the pool is being "told" this but I doubt they are anywhere inside near there to confirm unless he waves from the window.
