North Korea unveils massive new ballistic missile in military parade

Source: CNN

North Korea unveiled what analysts believe to be one of the world's largest ballistic missiles at a military parade celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Workers' Party broadcast on state-run television on Saturday.

"What North Korea has shown us, what appears to be a new liquid-fueled ICBM that seems to be a derivative of what was tested back in late 2017, known as the Hwasong-15, is much bigger and clearly more powerful than anything in the DPRK's arsenal," said Harry Kazianis, senior director of Korean studies at the Washington DC-based Center for the National Interest.

When the Hwasong-15 was tested in 2017, Pyongyang said it was "capable of carrying a super-heavy nuclear warhead." Analysts said at the time it was expected to have the range to hit much of the United States mainland.

So a bigger weapon would in theory enable North Korea to get more warheads over the mainland United States with a single rocket launch.

Apparently the love letters between Trump and Kim did not forestall the expansion of NK's nuclear capability. Looks like those who award the Nobel Peace Prize dodged a bullet in not awarding one to Trump for his outreach to North Korea.

all over the world. And some self-aggrandizing heads of state are throwing their nation's resources into weapons when people are tiring of fighting and unproductive wars. WTF is wrong with people on earth?

I have a dream that the sovereign leaders of the world would come together to try to resolve the unequal distribution of wealth, the unequal access to healthcare, formulating new ways to feed the masses, sharing international resources and raising the standard of living for all the poor in every nation. I'm not talking about taking all the wealth from the wealthy and just giving it to others but I am talking about redistributing a portion of the dormant wealth just being handed around among the wealthy and not producing shit for the universal good of the people of the earth.

Who the f**k wants to invade a starving nation and rule over them. What war is he fighting? What war are we fighting? Who really wants to invade the USA and take over the shambles left by the Trump administration where among some people there are more guns than brains?

i simply don't get it.

These are all human characteristics throughout history. The majority of people just want to survive and raise their familes. Though they outnumber the rulers, they often can't conceive an alternative and lack the organization to act.

There have been mass uprisings, but those are often co-opted by unscrupulous leaders on their own power trips, like the Soviets who emerged from the Russian revolution to impose their own form of tyranny.

Human civilization has the resources and ingenuity to sustain all humanity in peace and well being, but we've always lacked the ability to work together for our common interests -- not just between nations, but within our own.
